A Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

To the regular readers of my blog Ramblings from the Road, thank you for following  me over to my new home. There will be plenty of Freddy pictures so don't fret, as well as the obligatory taco dinners.

For my new readers, please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Greg and Freddy the wonder pup is a two year old Golden Doodle, although he thinks of himself as a Royal Canadian Water Dog. He is extremely friendly and loves to play with anybody or any dog.

For the last 9 years I have been travelling all around the US taking photos at over 900 campgrounds and writing a travel blog. Freddy has been with me for almost the last two years, since he was nine weeks old. That's right. Freddy has grown up camping, spending maybe a month total inside a house when we visit my brother Mike.

Even though we are still young, with an average age of 26, Freddy thought it would be fun to stay in one place for a while. He always had a kinda sad look when I broke camp every few days. Destiny led us here, to the beautiful Camp Coeur d'Alene where we will stay as long as the owner Ron can stand us.

You will see us tromping around the campground, me with a big camera around my neck and Freddy with a goofy smile and his tongue hanging out.

I am going to be taking photos of folks having fun and whatever else strikes my fancy. There is so much to see here! I will be posting a new blog every week and updates on our social sites Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram every few days. But only if it is something cool. I hate being bombarded with insignificant drivel. I mean, does anyone care if a friend bought a new pair of socks? With a picture of them on their feet no less?

Anyway, feel free to ask me any photography questions if you find us out and about the campground. Or if your timing is right, you might be able to snag a taco at my trailer around suppertime.

We camp in a Scamp. Pulled by an Element. You can't miss it. It's the one on the right.

And this is Freddy.

A picture is worth a thousand words so I will stop babbling and show you what you missed over the holiday weekend.

If you find a photo of you or your family, just right click on it and you can save the image to your computer. If you would like a high resolution copy, let me know and I can email one.

The weather was perfect and the campground was full.

The Lodge is almost finished being renovated and it and the pool will be open in mid June.

There is going to be a small store inside offering neat gifts and basic grocery and camping items. Don't forget about the free firewood.

That is just one of the amenities offered here that made me pick this as the place to hang my hat. There is also free wifi, free hot showers, even laundry facilities. The bathrooms even have free toilet paper! How cool is that?

Even an outdoor kitchen that can be reserved for groups.

The tent campers were having a blast down by the water.

Site 93 offers a great view of the river.

In addition to the 45 tent sites and 45 RV sites, Camp Coeur d'Alene offers 19 cabins.

Is this camper enjoying life in his hammock?

After a closer look, I would say, emphatically, yes.

This is a destination campground and the destination here is the water.

Hand carried boats can be launched from a grassy bank and there are nearby boat ramps for larger craft. So bring your kayaks, canoes, inner tubes, what have you and enjoy the wake free water. There are two paddle boats and canoe available if you arrive boatless. Oh, and they are free to use.

Yep.

So come on over and toss a ball for Freddy.

You might even get a nose kiss!

But if you happen see this strange creature in the grass, have no worries.

It's just Freddy doing his happy dance.

Summer is almost here. Jump in and enjoy it at Camp Coeur d'Alene.

Regards,
Greg and Freddy and the great staff at Camp Coeur d'Alene

  2. My inventor is wanting to encourage me to go to .net from PHP. I've always disliked the theory due to expenditures. But he's desiring nonetheless. I am using Movable-type on several websites for approximately twelve-monthly and am pressured about transitioning to another system. I've noticed top features of blogengine.net. Maybe there's a way I really could duplicate all my WordPress articles engrossed? Any help would be cherished.
